Okay, so I got my n-threads today from Namtaro. They came packaged and organized with a happy little note of thanks. My first reaction to seeing these things was "wow, that's a good looking string." Then I put them on my Speeder and well...I'm gonna try to keep this short...
Playability 10/10
Alright so the size of these strings is perfect. Nam cuts them a little longer than Brazillian Mondos if you've ever played those. Also, the thickness of the string is about the same as a highlight, but they're like 3x softer. Now the weird thing about these strings that made them really stand out to me and really made me fall in love with them is weight. You heard me. These things are noticeably heavy. Not a bad thing! It makes slack much easier to control, but I'll get to that later. They feel great on your fingers; there's no string burn issue and they're big enough that you can feel exactly where they are. They're also kind of slick and are very easily to adjust if they're not in the exact place on your finger you'd like them to be.
Durability 10/10
Yeah, I played with these things for about 45 minutes straight and the only problem was that the string tension was off a little. I mean, there's a little fray going on, but only if you literally put your eyes 2 inches away from it. So yeah, freaking awesome.
Color 10/10
These things look spectacular. Even my mom commented on them and my mom hates that I'm 19 years old, still live with my parents and play with yoyos. I'm most partial to the light creamy pink. It looks great on my speeder, but the other colors I got are great too (Zzebra, Blue Angles, Creamy Yellow and Dark Creamy Pink). The colors are very vibrant and pop a lot. Really no surprise here considering how great they look in the pictures. They definitely look better in person, though.
Slack 10/10
As I said in my last string review, there's 2 parts to how well a string slacks. Well, these strings changed my mind about that. Now I'm pretty sure there's 3. Firstly, there's how well the string holds a slack loop. Then there's how easy it is to physically hold the string in place so the slack doesn't slip. And third, how easy the loop is to control. This string does all three of those things better than anything I've ever played. No exaggeration. I found that with these strings, I can just throw them in any direction and I mean ANY direction and I can just guide that slack wherever I want it to go. I came up with several new ideas from tricks just doing that. Unbelievable.
Overall 10/10
Okay, I really can't stress just how amazingly good these strings are. Nam only charges 25 cents each, so you've got nothing to lose even if you just grab a few, but believe me, you're going to wish you got more. I really don't even know what to say. I don't think there's anything other to say than buy some. Best strings I've ever used.

Well I had offered to be a tester for the N-Threads, so heres my review on it
There won't be any pics cause I hardly have any time for that, so I apologize for that
Anyways. My first impression of the string was "wow! It's so pretty!" The colors are great, and I love the colors he gave me. Creamy yellow, and Blue Angel
. Both great colors IMO
. My second thoughts on it was "wow, it's so soft!" haha, the stuff IS soft. I was wondering how well it would be able to hold slack and whips.
I immediatly threw the string onto my X-Convict (after cutting it to my fave length of course
) and threw it. It actually seemed to INCREASE the tightness of my binds, yet kept the yoyo nice and unresponsive to my likings. Big plus on that
The string seems to last FOREVER! I've had the string on both my FreeRider, and my X-Convict, (been playing the vict a little more) and both are still playing as well as they where when I got them (christmas day). They definately last longer than my HighLights do, and almost play as nicely as them (thats right... I said it... *sigh*). I do prefer the way the highlights play, but just by a bit
. The slacks and whips with the N-Threads are Great! They hold out just nicely, and I have no problems with any of my whips or slacks at all
.
The only thing I would have to comment on them is that the string tension gets pretty tight really fast, and that can get irritating with my whips and slacks, but its cool, string tension isn't THAT hard to fix
So.. sorry for the shortish review. Thats all I have to say. If you have any questions, just... ask them
Corbin

well this is my first review so bear with me...
N-Threads: poly
play: plays quite well and are very soft, kinda like hi-lites but u dont have that roughness at the beginning
slack: holds slack very well, slightly better than hi-lites do
color: looks great and the colors are sweet, look at pics
life span: i donno, only got these yesterday, looks like it will last slightly longer than hi-lites
I received this cool little pack of string from Nam.
First I'd like to say he knows how to make his product look good. The string came packed neatly folded, labeled, description added, all in a nice sealed string size zip bag. For someone to take that much time to package his product it says a lot, 1 he's proud of his work, 2 he wants you to enjoy his labor.
I recently tested some Twista String, as for a comparison, well there is none. The only thing that is the same is, they both are used for yo-yoing.
Twista string is hard, N-Threads is soft.Twista string has hard colors, N-Threads is soft pastel. The hardness of the Twista string helps keeps slack loops wide, take a little more effort with the N-Threads.
Both are great, its all up to your taste.
The other thing I'd like to note is N-Threads is the closest thing to G-String I've ever felt. Perhaps they use the same material. All in all i'd say it's a compliment for both G-String and N-Threads.

Nam was kind enough to take a custom order from me last week so I could string up my beloved Envy with a
color matched string. Until now I have used The AMAZING G-String, Highlights, Brazilian vulto stuff, slicks, Alchemy and
Angel Hairs, but I dont have anything that looks sweet with my H.
Nam quoted me $6 for 20 strings shipped, I left him $10 just because .50 per string seemed fair enough to me, he was going through the
trouble of making it up special so whatev.
He made them up that night and got em off to me.
I got them 2 days ago - less than a week after I forwarded him the money - they came very nicely packed and I was super pleased with the colors.
They Look really Sweet on my BVM as well.
Anyway took em out started throwing and I really like them.
They feel different than anything Ive played - They resemble the SSE and Intentus lines from Gstring.
They are not as 'fat' and intentuses and not as soft as SSE.
I prefer a tighter heavier sting, for me they whip easier.
The N-Thread really gets the job done - They play very fast and take awhile to bunch up. They whip very nicely and hold slack
as well as anything Ive played.
For me they are just as good or better than the stuff I have thrown in the past - but I love the fact that I can request specific colors
and they come prontisimo - Nams a great guy and very easy to deal with...
I would Highly recommend trying some of these.
Thanks Bud!

Nam was kind enough to send me three N-threads to try out.
My first impression was that they are very light, soft and flexible. A little fuzzy but not too bad (similar to original G-string). They are about the same thickness as Slick 6 or Hilights abut they feel more like Brazillian or original G-string. They come in a similar length to G-string with just a knot in the end, no finger loop. I strung up a couple of yoyos with them, a Dif with a pad setup and an FHZ with recessed silicone (dual recess by Takeshi). Binds were nice and tight and I could do several lindy loops with them before they grabbed a little (I suspect the thickness may have something to do with that). After several hours of play with both yoyos they strings were still pretty much the way I got them, they hold up very well. I'm not much of a slack player but I was able to pull off Suicides as well as I can with Slick 6 or G-string.
Conclusion...
I really like the way they hold up and how soft they are. My only problems are that they are a little thick for my taste and when I got a tight knot in one it was pretty difficult to get it out. The finger loop stays tight on your finger very well though. Overall I give them a 7.5 out of 10.
Thanks for the threads Nam!!! Keep up the good work
Todd
I just received some N-Threads from Nam a few days ago and he asked if I would write a small review. I don't write many reviews because I consider myself a novice yoyoer. I'll mostly let the pics speak for themselves.
The top stack is Tutti Fruity and the bottom stack is Righteous Raspberry:
Comparison Shot against G-Strings: (SSE G-String, Type 10 N-Thread, Intenus G-String)
First shot of my new purple N-Threads with my purple AC Hitman:
Second Shot:
I decided to do a comparison against G-Strings because G-Strings are my personal favorite. If you really like Intenus strings from G-String you should really like Nam's string. His strings are a little thinner and a little less soft. He did say that he makes a type 12 string that is thicker and probably closer in size to a SSE G-String. I was a little put off at first by the thickness but have grown to really enjoy it after a few hours of play.
The biggest factor in my opinion is cost. Right now G-strings are a little more expensive than N-Threads. I purchased 10 SSE strings and 5 Intenus strings for a little over $11. Nam's string is around $6 for 20. I know some people are on a tight budget.
Shipping takes a little while if you live in the States. It took almost 2 weeks to get the string since Nam lives in Canada. G-Strings are also based in Canada so shipping time is pretty much the same. I received the G-Strings a day sooner.
I would definitely recommend N-Threads. The quality is very similar to G-Strings at a slightly reduced price.
N THREADS!
Again, Namtaro was kind enough as to send me some of his threads and he gave me some tutoring on making my own. They are not the softest of strings, about the surface texture of a highlite, but THEY PLAY! They have a slight weight to them, and are nice and tightly twisted, leading to superb slacks and psychotic suicides. Very good colors, prices, and Nams a great trader/shipper. I really like them, but they come in a close second to my favorites, Gstring SSE and soon to be Intensus.
PICTURE!
I must say, Dizzo and Namtaro are 2 great guys with to sweet products. I recommend them to anyone needing weights or string and really want to wish you all a good evening.
Hello
My review will not have pics but after you hear what I say you will not need them. I have tried all of the home made strings I have heard of. My review will be mainly based against G-string because that is what I have found to be the best and that is what I have I been using exclusively for a while.
First impression: They all came very neatly packaged in individual bundles( I got quite a few) for easy differentiation and access.they have wonderful length that will accommodate any length string you are looking for. most of what I got was custom done. As in my colors were chosen to match my yoyos. I must say that the colors were vibrant and easy to see. I have played string that was more brilliant but did not play as well. On many of my designs I left it up to him. I gave him a list of yos that I owned and he made colors that accent them wonderfully.
Play: they start out a little rougher than G-string but they soften up well. the color was bright and easier to see than G-string. they dont slack and suicide as well as the string I normally play ( I use sse) but if your slack stuff is good it wont be a problem. I would say that if you are learning slack or trying to get down new stuff, some sse might be a little better, but just a little better. After properly breaking in this string, it takes a little bit, I say that it plays super awesome. It also has a good life to it. It is wound well and wont fall apart. You can really tell that he takes time with every string. I have tried hand made string that looked beautiful but was not twisted properly. I would like to see nam try and twist some things a little looser so it has a better string tension resistance, but thats most likely my inferior yoyo skills at fault
and there is a fine line between too loose and "I wish". I have had string that was looser but broke after a good hour of play. I have not worn out a string yet, so It may get better on string tension with age. the string tension is not bad, comparable to g string.
In the end: I must say that I will be buying N-threads for as long as they are available. If you were to ask me what is better between G string and N-threads I dont think I would be able to give an answer. I can say that N-threads cost half as much. also variety is the spice of life, so I will be playing both N-threads and G-string. I would like to point out that I have not tried the intensious G string ( Im sure I spelled that wrong) so I can not compare the two. From my experience I would say buy the N- threads. they are absolutely worth a shot!
Alrighty.
Nam sent me some strings and asked me to review them; here are a few of my thoughts.
They came packaged in a plastic bag with a neat stamp and a signed note. Nothing really to do with the strings themselves, but they were secured and no mystery fluid could get on them during travel, which is a +1.
The strings were bundled lengthwise and then folded...then fastened by paper and a staple.
The strings themselves consisted of a lot of different colors...honestly, really not my preference but the colors WERE nice to look at.
Here is a close-up shot for all you fuzzy-factor people.
The strings were twisted pretty well and the bottom loop stayed closed, which was useful for threading counterweights. They felt softer than cotton and slick 6 string, but still not as soft as G-string or the stuff I make at first...however, after you play with them for a few minutes they start to soften out; so there IS a break-in period.
After about 20-30 minutes of play time the colors start to dull out and the string is harder to keep track of the tension...this is usually the time I throw my strings out, and the N-threads are no exception. They don't last longer than any other poly string, but don't get this confused with a short life span, you could probably keep playing with them for a few days, I just don't like the feel of them after they dull out.
Overall, the strings a good-quality stuff; tightly spun, great for suicides/slack etc, and if I had the choice between these or slick 6 I would probably grab these.
Good stuff, thanks for letting me try them out.
